Guitar Romantica is an acoustic guitar duo featuring South American styles, romantic ballads, Jazz, and original music. Closely akin to The Gipsy Kings, Acoustic Alchemy, and Strunz and Farah, their music combines elements of Latin rhythms and Jazz, with beautiful chord voicings that combine the sound of nylon string classical guitar with steel string acoustic guitar for a unique and fresh sound that can be relaxing yet exciting at the same time.

EVAN HAYMOND with ROSES FOR CHELSEA- 730 TO 1130
Amazing local young artist Evan Haymond (16)brings his band to the Bistro 400! Roses for Chelea are in full force writing and recording. Their first album will hit stores in late 2009. All the members of this band are world class musicians. Scott Stewart (drummer) has pounded away since he was a kid, he has gained respect in the Drumlin scene as one of the best. Evan Haymond (lead guitar/vocals) provides gut wrenching and ear bending solos capturing listeners both young and.... under 60. He has played such places as the famous CAVERN CLUB in liverpool england and Memphis Historic BEAL STREET. Kurt Tellez (bass/vocals) gives the thump and the bump de bump that could rock the foundations of any venue. His base lines can range from sweet to spicy and nice to feisty.

ALFONZO GARCIA! 730 pm to 1130 pm
Alfonzo has played shows with the likes of Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis (5th Dimension), Bryan Duncan, Ron Connolly, George Santana (Carlos? brother), and Pete Escobedo (Santana, George Duke) were also on the bill. His experience ranges from playing in live musicals, studio recordings, touring, producing, live jazz gigs, big band gigs, and live praise and worship events. He has played with talented musicians including Leon Patillo (Santana), Francisco Loyo (Luis Miguel), Otmaro Ruiz (Steve Winwood, Boney James), Sal Cracciolo (Poncho Sanchez), Frank Fontaine (Celia Cruz, Horace Silver), and Dave Owens (Lion King, Peter White) at various venues, including The Coach House, The Queen Mary, and The Cerritos Center for Performing Arts. Some of his more memorable performances were playing for Diane Keaton and Wolfgang Puck. Alfonso studied jazz bass at the Dick Grove School of Music as well as privately with Bruce Stone (Keiko Matsui, Brian Bromberg), Steve Billman (Alex Acuna, Chester Thompson), and Luther Hughs (Quincy Jones, David Benoit). Alfonso enjoys playing 4, 5, and 6 string fretted and fretless electric basses, plus acoustic and electric upright basses.
